In May of 2003 a new Limited Edition Bobcat scale model was introduced:

This model was produced to mark the delivery of the first Bobcat skid steer loaders to the U.S. Military.
The Bobcat Company won the Department of Defence contract in a very competitive field.
In 2003 there would be 283 Bobcat 763's delivered, successive orders will depend on annual funding, but the 5-year contract could result in orders for up to 1000 units worth $25 million.

The Limited Edition 763 Military model was a Serial Numbered edition.
Only 2000 where manufactured.

400 units where reserved for the U.S. Military and Department of Defense,
The remaining 1600 units where available for the U.S. dealers only.

The Limited Edition 763 Military model was the first 763 skid steer loader with a G-Series operator cab.

It was painted entirely in Military green.

The logo's where all black decals.

It also came in a Limited Edition display box, with Military action pictures on it.

On the bottom of the box the models serial number was present as on the bottom of the scale model too.

The Limited Edition 763 Military model was produced by Clover and scaled down to 1/25.

Anecdote:

When I first heard about the model I managed to get the part number (6902374) and ordered 50 pieces with the Bobcat spare parts division in Mulheim, Germany.
At this moment I had no idea it was a Limited Production of 2000.
My order was being proseced in a normal way.

Of course I was very happy that I could have ordered them, until a few day's later I got a letter from the Bobcat European headquarters:

Where it was stated that the scale model was only available for the U.S. only and my order had been cancelled.

The disappointment was great, and I started e-mailing and calling people up asking them to help me get a Military model.
Nobody could promise me they would get me one.

In May of 2003, during the European Bobcat dealer award dinner in Paris, France I met the President & CEO of the Bobcat Company: Michael J. Ryan.
During our very entertaining conversation I asked Mr. Ryan if he could get his hand on a Military model for me.
Mr Ryan promised that he would take care of it, and a few weeks later it arrived at my home,
Accompanied with a letter that he had visited my website and enjoyed it.

A man of his word thanks Mr. Michael J. Ryan.

Below you can find some pictures of the Military Bobcat skid steer loaders in action and myself and Mr. Michael J. Ryan.
